Ibis Jerusalem – Affordable Comfort in Prime Location |
Ibis Hotel is situated in the city’s
downtown triangle with easy access to the city’s shopping and tourist
attractions. The hotel is located a few steps from Jaffa street where the
Jerusalem light train passes near Zion square and Ben Yehuda street. It is less
than a mile from the old city Jaffa gate.

The Rooms
There are a few types of rooms,
some for families. We stayed in a standard room for two. The rooms are small,
but not too small, just right and pleasant. The décor is the same as the hotel –
young and modern. There is something minimalistic about them – functional but comfortable.
I was a bit worried that it might be too minimalistic but after staying the
night I was surprised how comfortable everything is. There was everything I needed
– bed light, sockets, flat screen TV, (an open) closet, a safe deposit large
enough for my laptop and climate control.

Sleeping here turned out very comfortable,
the mattress
is Sweet BedTM by
ibis and it is excellent!

The bathroom is rather small and
grayish (airplane lavatory style) but there was enough space to put my toiletries
bag, quality Dove soap, hair dryer and good ventilation.

Breakfast and Happy Hour
Breakfast is served in the
breakfast room on the lower level. It is a fabulous meal, Israeli buffet style.
When I got there, I couldn’t find the usual scrambled eggs, but very quickly I
realized that I don’t really need it! Beyond the rows of vegetables, salads,
antipasti and cheeses there is a warm buffet including excellent shakshouka,
pasta and creamed sweet potatoes. This is more than a breakfast – it is a
brunch! The food is rich with herbs and very tasty and at the sweet end there
are pastries, spreads, cereals and good coffee.

Those who get up late and miss
breakfast can enjoy complimentary coffee at the hotel’s bar, where the guests
are invited to ‘happy hour’ every evening at 6PM. Drinks and snacks are
served on the house.

In summary, I was surprised! The
hotel is simple but staying there is very comfortable and pleasant, and the
location is perfect!
