Golden Crown Haifa Hotel – for business and city break

Golden Crown Haifa hotel is a business hotel suitable for a city break.  With excellent service: confortable room, great breakfast, and an especially attentive staff, and a perfect location: just off the German Colony and near main roads.
Golden Crown Haifa Hotel – for business and city break

We arrived at Golden Crown Haifa hotel after a morning of Spa in the Western Galilee. The hotel has a formal, yet designed décor. It is modern but still cosy – grey-brown colors with a touch of color and a wink of Art Deco.

The Room
We stayed at an Executive room. The décor, similar to the hotel’s design is somewhat grey-brown with a touch of modern yellow. The room is spacious, functional and not cluttered. A bed, sofa, desk, closet, flat tv and a lot of space. There is everything one need here – a safe deposit box (inside the closet) that my laptop fit into and a desk. There is also a minibar, and a coffee machine.

The bed is comfortable, with a really good mattress – firm but not hard, and the sheets are soft. There are bedside lamps on both sides as well as power outlet (so that you’ll be able to charge your phone while in bed).

A small sofa is located by the window.

The bathroom is huge. It has a double sink and plenty of space for toiletries. The bathroom and shower are modernly equipped with pampering finish – such as rain shower head.

The view from the large room window is overlooking the port. There are rooms facing the mountain overlooking at the beautiful Bahai Gardens! We enjoyed the sea and port view, and watched the big ships at the docks.

Dining
The Golden Crown Haifa hotel dining room is modern but with a middle-eastern touch – high couches with rounded sides and yellow lined seats. On one side, a big ship representing the Haifa port on the wall, and on the other side – a large window to typical city street that has Jerusalem brick wall buildings and trees. I like sitting and looking at the people passing by.

Breakfast is served in buffet style. The buffet is located at the side of the dining room, which maintains a calm atmosphere. It is quite small and surprisingly rich. It is packed with plenty of salads, cheeses, breads, and warm food. There are also Middle Eastern dishes such as Haloumi cheese Shakshouka, and creamed sweet potato. The meal includes also the standard food such as cereals, yoghurt, fruit and coffee.

The variety of cheeses is worth mentioning, Brie, goat cheese, feta, local Labneh, and many more types.

The meals are dairy and Kosher, so no meat products are served. Only breakfast is served at the hotel, but the hotel has a list of restaurants located nearby in which the hotel guests have 15% discount at.
Hotel Services
Golden Crown Haifa hotel is relatively small with about 90 rooms, but it has an especially large lounge (with a large covered balcony that hosts events). The Lounge, located on the second floor, includes a seating area and a private room for meetings, snacks (such as sandwiches, dips, and some sweet stuff), peanuts and dried fruit, soft drinks, alcohol and beer, and coffee.
The lounge is the place for businessmen who sometimes spend weeks away from home. It is a place for them to  alleviate loneliness and enjoy a good beer. The lounge manager, William, is especially attentive to their needs and assists them with everything they need, including finding and booking restaurants or helping them to find their way around Haifa.

In addition there is also a small gym.

The hotel has free wifi everywhere.
Location
Golden Crown Haifa is located off Ben Gurion, “the German Colony”, and on the same building as “the city center”, a small shopping outlet. It is close to the business district and industrial area, and is near the port, the train, and the important road 22. It is an excellent location to access main roads and business points of interests, as well as perfect for going out by foot at night to the entertainment district.
The German Colony was the settlement of the German Templers in the 19th century. The houses were mostly preserved and are now a historical place to visit, walk and enjoy the picturesque old preserved houses. Many of the buildings are housing restaurants, coffee shops, galleries and little hotels. And if this is not enough – if you look up south at the Carmel Mountain – you’ll be fascinated by the view of the Bahai Gardens. Here’s the view from Ben Gurion street.

In Summary
Golden Crown Haifa is a good hotel. From the nice rooms and lounge, the good food, and the great location – to to the welcoming staff,  which is why I highly recommend it!
