The 7th kosher wines
exhibition of Zur Wines “Tasting World” that took place at the port of Tel Aviv.
About a thousand people participated and over 150 Kosher wines were presented, many
of them for the first time in Israel.
“Tasting World” is the Israeli exhibition
that corresponds to Kosher Food & Wine Experience (KFWE) that take place in
six cities around the world (Los Angeles, New York, Paris, London, Tel Aviv and
Miami), that is considered the largest and most prestigious kosher wine and
food tasting event.
When we got to Trask events venue
at the port of Tel Aviv we found a presentation of 150 wines from 40 Wineries,
and wine makers from Bordeaux, Champagne, California, Spain, and Italy. The
tasting was accompanied by food from Bar-B-Que,
the kosher Australian barbeque and sushi from Al Hamayim and fine music.

While difficult to tell about every wine out of the large selection of wines, liquors etc. here are a few I tried. We started
with Psagot
winery. I visited the winery in the past and tried some of their wines (you
can read more about it here).
This time I tried their Viognier 2016, which was very good, I especially
enjoyed Psagot Single Vineyard 2014, Cabernet Sauvignon aged 13 months in French oak barrels, which was very round!
I also tried some of the wines of
Herzog winery from California. They have different vineyards in different regions,
which are processed differently and taste entirely different. We found the Cabernet
Sauvignon from Sonoma to be quite good for the cheaper price category, but if
you want a really excellent wine (which is priced around NIS 800) – the Generation
VIII is very good, very aromatic and has an especially persistent flavor.
In addition to wines there were
also other liquors, such as Walders creamy liqueur that comes in tree flavors: vodka
& vanilla, scotch & coffee, and Banoffee. The Banoffee was really good!
They also have eggnog liqueur.
Before we left, we got a bottle of Jezreel Alfa, a blend with a fruity aroma.
At the tasting, we tried a
variety of liqueurs and even a quite good kosher whiskey of boondocks. Zur
bring to Israel a large variety of wines and liquors, many from well known
worldwide wineries. You can find out more information on their website: http://www.zurage.com.
